Charades Challenge
Charades is a classic party game that never fails to entertain, it works for a variety of different ages and often ends up in hysterics once you realise how badly off-base you really were. Then, make a bowl (a hat can serve the same purpose) and create some charade options – films, TV shows, books etc – and take turns acting out the words or phrases without speaking while teammates guess within a time limit.

This can be a great way to test your general knowledge against your friend with a trivia night showdown. You can make your own trivia cards, or online resources, to challenge your friends on everything from pop culture to history. Top tip: try and have a selection of different categories so somebody who isn’t particularly au fait with one subject will have a chance in another.

Pictionary can be great fun, as unless you have an artist friend, it often devolves into a certain type of madness. Players take turns drawing clues while their teammates try to guess the word or the phrase – make sure you have a selection of good pens so people don’t have to share, and a large whiteboard can be helpful!
