On August 24th, 2022, Shenzhen JPT Optoelectronics Co. Ltd. (hereafter referred to as JPT) revealed a financial report for the first half of 2022. JPT accomplished an operating income of 556 million yuan, approximately 76.5 million United States Dollars, during the first half of 2022. Compared to the previous year, operating income decreased by 4.32%, leading to a subsequent net profit decline. Through the first half of the year, JPT’s net profit attributable to shareholders, which measures the company’s profit after expenses, including- minority interests, income taxes, as well as extraordinary items, was 37.1424 million yuan, representing a decrease of 13.69% from the last year’s net profit attributable.
The impact of COVID-19 dramatically affected both the laser industry and the manufacturing supply chain during the second quarter of this year, the report indicated. The report notes that JPT maintains its competitive advantage within the “laser light source +” industry by deeply cultivating relationships with suppliers of core, laser-light source technology and focusing on and working out various technical problems related to key laser materials and components. JPT extensively cooperates with several benchmark customers in crucial industries, including new energy, 3c, integrated circuits, and semiconductors.
JPT has achieved breakthroughs in the following areas of laser technology and laser technology products.
1. JPT’s lasers work to solve modern processing problems that customers encounter, improving customers’ process efficiency.
2. JPT has independently developed a series of welding solutions that include a real-time tracking system, a power tracking system, and a temperature detection system that provide users with secure steady support and increased efficiency.
3. JPT supplies end customers with overall solutions crafted to suit their needs. These solutions include independently developed laser light source + automation equipment and precision optical detection capabilities.
Service-based customers include those manufacturing consumer electronics, new energy-powered batteries, photovoltaics commonly used in solar panel technology, Virtual reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) developers, and passive components manufacturers, passive components being- resistors, conductors, capacitors, and transformers, among others.
JPT faced operational difficulties in the first half of 2022. To solve this problem, JPT brought on new suppliers to perform product verification promptly while also smoothly transitioning the supply of raw materials needed for parts among suppliers. All of this was accomplished without significantly impacting JPT’s product production.
Simultaneously, JPT continues to research and explore the new energy market, works vigorously to develop the laser welding market, continues to proliferate the different categories of automation equipment, and is expanding within the emerging fields of new energy-powered batteries, photovoltaics, VR/AR, and other burgeoning technologies and markets. Over time JPT acquired new customers and received new orders.

Beginning in 2021, JPT has made important steps in energy-powered batteries. JPT has produced relevant layouts for new energy-powered batteries while also maintaining close relationships and communication with various energy-powered battery manufacturers. Additionally, customers have expanded from the prior localization of laser processing equipment to the new localization of laser light sources. During the first six months of 2022, JPT’s laser equipment, laser processing modules, and laser welding equipment have received recognition after a gradual process of verification from leading customers and industry leaders; as a result, JPT received frequent and rapid orders.
JPT began conducting extensive research and development (R&D) on automating laser trimmer equipment, specifically used in the passive component industry, following wide recognition from passive component-based customers. JPT placed their inductive paint stripping machine, inductive winding machine, and charter testing machine to the test, on a trial basis, at various customer’s work sites during the first half of 2022. The tests went over well, and JPT’s products received high regard and customer acclaim. In the future, the automation equipment mentioned above will begin gradually phasing out the current mainstream, imported equipment in the market.
Due to the positive reception amongst leading customers in the consumer electronics industry, specifically regarding optical inspection, JPT received orders for VR/AR inspection equipment from various customers. Additionally, both parties began a preliminary discussion about the new wave of technical parameters for the next generation of VR/AR testing equipment. It is anticipated that customers will invest in VR/AR testing equipment to improve their testing efficiency in the coming years.
