Investors in this case are likely to derive only 20% of total equity stake. It also means, creation of additional value for the company.

Effective calculation

For accurate Sweat equity as director calculation, divide investor’s investment amount by equity presentation that it represents. The calculation here will be $500,000 divided by $2.5 million or 20%. $500,000 is the investor’s stake, thus making your stake to be worth around $2 million. As only $1 million has been invested, $1 million is likely to be the Sweat equity as director. The amount that the investor is eager to pay to have a stake in your business will drive every calculation stage.
