NEW YORK: A person walks by a Motorola sign at the launch of three new Motorola smartphones under its Razr brand that will become available for Verizon customers on September 5, 2012, in New York City. The new phones, the Droid Razr HD, the Razr M, and the Razr Maxx HD, will all use Google’s Android operating system. Motorola Mobility was acquired by Google in August of 2011
Android testing takes quite some time and phone companies do not release an update unless they are sure that it works properly. Luckily, these smartphone developers give their users an idea about the devices getting the update. As for Motorola, the company has already confirmed that Moto phones will receive the Nougat update. Motorola has previously said that Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are all getting the Nougat update.
However, what they failed to mention was whether or not the non-2016-released phones were also getting the update. Fortunately, the company has now posted its complete list of Moto smartphones that are getting the Nougat update.

The most recent list from Motorola included more models. This means that if your Moto phone is relatively new, there’s a good chance that you’ll be getting the Nougat update.

According to GSM Arena, added to the list are 4th Gen Moto G devices, including Moto G, G Play, and G Plus. Moto X devices are also in, including the 3rd Gen Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Style, Moto X Play and Moto X Force. The Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Turbo Maxx are also on the list.

Furthermore, the Moto Z Droid and Force Droid will also be updated, along with the Motorola-made Google Nexus 6. Needless to say, the company hasn’t given a specific release date yet.

As per Motorola’s blog, the company will roll out Android Nougat in the fourth quarter of this year. This means that within the next two months, they will be starting their Nougat rollout. It was said that Moto Z and 4th Gen Moto G will be the first to get the update, so it is expected that other models’ update could be extended to 2017
